Census 2011 household, Scotland

The Household Secure Microdata Sample is a 10% sample of households in the 2011 census output database for Scotland.

Census data are collected every 10 years in Scotland. Census data for the 2011 Census was the 27th of March 2011. Full information on how the 2011 Census in Scotland was conducted is available on the Scotland Census website (opens in a new tab) 

The household file includes person-level and household-level data on 123 variables for 10% of households and their household members. The lowest level of geography is council area. The dataset includes household spaces containing no enumerated persons. The dataset allows linkage between individuals in the same family and in the same household.

This dataset and the Scotland's Census 2011 Individual Secure Microdata Sample do not overlap and cannot be combined.

All data hosted on the Integrated Data Service (IDS) are de-identified.
