Labour Force Survey and Annual Population Survey, 1992 to 2011 - non indexed

The Annual Population Survey is a survey of households in the UK providing information on key social and socioeconomic variables between the 10-yearly censuses.

The Annual Population Survey (APS) is a combined survey of households in the UK. Its purpose is to provide information on key social and socioeconomic variables between the 10-yearly censuses, with particular emphasis on providing information relating to sub-regional (local authority) areas.

The topics covered include employment and unemployment, as well as housing, ethnicity, religion, health and education.

The Labour Force Survey (LFS), and the APS, are the sources recommended for employment-related statistics, such as estimates of the number of people in employment or unemployed. They are also a unique source of comprehensive, coherent information about economic inactivity, as it separates information about people who want a job and those who do not.

Some variables in this dataset previously had a $ suffix for field names. The $ symbol has been removed to meet requirements for inclusion in the Integrated Data Service, however please note that previous iterations will still contain the $ suffix for these variable names. Please adapt syntaxes as per the revised variable names for this dataset. The variable descriptions remain the same.

All data hosted on the Integrated Data Service (IDS) are de-identified.
