Keeping data secure : Ethical considerations

Ethical considerations are an important part of research projects. When you are making your project application, carefully examine the ethical aspects of the research and plan a mitigation route for arising risks.

Before starting your application, it is important that you read the UK Statistics Authority Data Ethics framework (opens in a new tab)

Project applications may get queried on ethical grounds and serious ethical concerns may result in the application to be referred to the the National Statistician’s Data Ethics Advisory Committee (NSDEC) (opens in a new tab)
