How to access : What accreditation means

You must be an accredited researcher working on an accredited project to access data in the Integrated Data Service (IDS).

Being accredited means that you have been granted access to work with secure data in a safe setting under the Digital Economy Act (DEA) 2017.

This means you can carry out analysis and produce outputs on projects in a secure accredited research environment, or Trusted Research Environment (TRE).

As part of an accreditation application, you must:

  • demonstrate you have the knowledge and experience necessary to access personal information for research under the DEA 2017
  • commit to protect and maintain the confidentiality of data
