Jobseeker's Allowance counts by Lower layer Super Output Area

Jobseeker's Allowance count of claimants for England and Wales from NOMIS open data.

The number of people claiming Jobseeker's Allowance (JSA) and national insurance credits at Jobcentre Plus local offices. Dataset only covers a subset of people claiming unemployment related benefits.

Lowest level of geography version is Lower layer Super Output Area (LSOA) 2001 for data between 2004 and 2014, and LSOA 2011 for data from 2014 onwards.

The following measures are included in this data:

  • claimants as a proportion of residents aged 16 to 64 years
  • claimants as a proportion of economically active residents aged 16 years and above
  • claimants as a proportion of the workforce

All data hosted on the Integrated Data Service (IDS) are de-identified.
