Over 50s Lifestyle Study, Great Britain

A follow-up to the Opinions and Lifestyle Survey, based on adults aged 50 to 70 years in Great Britain.

The Over 50s Lifestyle Study is a follow-up to the Opinions and Lifestyle Survey. This survey is based on adults aged 50 to 70 years in Great Britain (that consented to recontact from Opinions and Lifestyle Survey or any subsequent Office for National Statistics survey), specifically those who reported being out of work over the period January 2021 to January 2022.

The primary aim of the survey is to provide insights on:

  • motivations for leaving
  • previous work history and current status
  • barriers and motivations to return to work
  • how and why behaviours have changed
  • financial position
  • sustainability
  • spending and consumption patterns
  • demographics
  • characteristics
  • geography

All data hosted on the Integrated Data Service (IDS) are de-identified.
