News : New data catalogue
The Integrated Data Service (IDS) is happy to announce that the new Data Catalogue is now available, in the Available Data section (opens in a new tab) . The enhanced data catalogue provides a whole host of benefits and will allow you to learn even more about the available datasets on the IDS.
This data catalogue was developed, following feedback from users, to improve user experience. The new catalogue is easier to navigate and provides more details about each dataset.
The new features of the data catalogue include:
- Flexible search and filtering functionality, allowing users to:
- Search any text within each dataset’s Title, Description or Keywords content
- Filter by date range the dataset covers
- Filter to one or more Themes
- Filter to one or more Data creators
- Use any combination of the above search and filter options
- The index page now defaults to showing 'Date covered (newest)' datasets first.
- Users can switch it back to alphabetical on dataset 'Title' anytime via 'Sort by' dropdown.
- When a user text searches, the index will automatically sort by 'Relevance'. To put most closely matched datasets first. But a user can then swap to by date or title instead.
- Individual dataset pages will now display in an enhanced two-tab view -with key information on first 'Details' tab.
Second 'Metadata' tab now includes more metadata information about each dataset (Only 'Sensitivity' tag is now restricted by security to Hub Catalogue only).
New datasets:
Along with these updates, six datasets have been added to the data catalogue this month.
The new datasets include:
- Census non-response linked study
- Further education workforce data collection for England
- UK research innovation workforce
- Birth registrations indexed
- Consumer and retail price index
- Annual survey of hours and earnings indexed.
We hope you enjoy the benefits provided by this new and improved data catalogue.
